Overview

The Trust Associate job role involves a wide range of tasks, including client communication, account maintenance, compliance, and reporting. Under the supervision and direction of senior officers, the Trust Associate provides administrative, operational, and client service support, including assisting with the administration of trust accounts, financial planning, and investment management. The Trust Associate often acts as a liaison between clients, advisors, and other internal teams.

Responsibilities

Account Administration and Support:

  • Prepare correspondence, account related reports and other documents as requested.
  • Schedule appointments and coordinate client meetings.
  • Maintain organized digital and physical client files in accordance with compliance requirements.
  • Assist in the day-to-day management of trust, estate, agency, and investment accounts.
  • Review account activity, monitor cash balances, and prepare recommendations for distributions as requested by Relationship Manager.
  • Help ensure accounts comply with governing documents, applicable laws, and internal policies.
  • Assist with opening, funding, and closing accounts.
  • Perform tasks assigned by RMs. Prioritize and manage those tasks based on deadlines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 Client Service:

  • Develop and maintain close relationships with the clients of TWM and a thorough knowledge of account ownership and account types.
  • Act as a point of contact for client inquiries, ensuring timely and professional responses.
  • Assist with onboarding new clients, including gathering.
  • Respond to client inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Participate in client meetings and assist in preparing materials.
  • Provide a customer experience, as defined by NDBT that is consistent across all customer touch points with intentional focus on customer satisfaction, loyalty, and retention that provides a differentiated experience from other financial institutions in the marketplace.
  • Cross sell all Bank products and services; refer customers and prospects to the appropriate department.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 Professional Development:

  • Pursue trust industry education as part of a career growth plan.
  • Attend local Estate Planning Council meetings, as appropriate.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, estate planning strategies, and fiduciary law updates.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or related field.
  • At least one to three years work experience in trust administration, financial planning, banking, or investment management preferred; internships or related work experience considered.

 Preferred Skills and Attributes:                           

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with trust, investment, or financial planning systems a plus.
  • Analytical skills for reviewing investments, tax issues, and trust provisions.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Expectation of obtaining an industry related certification (CPA, CFP, CTFA, etc.) if such certification is not already held.
